"HEARKEN, O, YE GENTILES, and hear the words of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, which he hath commanded me that I should speak concerning you, for, behold he commandeth me that I should write, saying, Turn all ye Gentiles, from your wicked ways, and repent of your evil doings, of your lyings and deceivings, and of your whoredoms, and of your secret abominations, and your idolatries, and of your murders, and your priestcrafts, and your envyings, and your strifes, and from all your wickedness and abominations, And come unto me, and be baptized in my name, that ye may receive a remission of your sins, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, THAT YE MAY BE NUMBERED WITH MY PEOPLE, WHO ARE OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL."

  IN THE LAST DAYS it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord [Israel] shall be established in the top of the mountains [The Chief of Nations], and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.  Micah 4:1
 

 THE STONE THAT BECOMES A GREAT MOUNTAIN

The Church of Jesus Christ Restored 1830 asserts that the keys have been given through the restored Holy Priesthood to bring about the kingdom of God as required in God’s word. This kingdom is designed to create a new society made up of people who will covenant with the Lord to follow his teachings in all things. We are commanded to organized this kingdom on the pattern contained in scriptures. This pattern provides for the  establishment and the building up of the City New Jerusalem and expanding the organization and kingdom throughout the Stakes of Zion and ultimately throughout the world. This new society is in contrast to the accepted values of the world.  

There are prevailing misconceptions concerning the kingdom.  Some think it is to be established when the Lord returns to begins his earthly reign. Others believe that the kingdom is only a spiritual kingdom with no earthly counterpart and we must wait until this earthly body is dissolved before we can enter therein. In using the Three Standard Books of the church, The Holy Scriptures, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants,  with the Holy Spirit as our guide, we are able to understand the plan that has laid down for the development and bringing forth of this kingdom.  If we look to the ancient and the latter day prophets we will begin to understand God's timetable in all of this.

 The book of Luke Chapter 1, Verse 32, informs us that Jesus will sit upon the throne of his father David and rule over the house of Jacob [Israel] forever. This identifies the kingdom of Christ as being one and the same with the kingdom of Israel.

 Before ascending into Heaven, the Lord conferred the keys to bring about his kingdom on Peter and the Apostles.

 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:20

 These keys hold the power and authority [binding and loosing on earth] for the priesthood to perform all ordinances necessary to prepare a people and the kingdom for the reign of Christ.

 “Even so ye must be born again, into the kingdom of heaven, of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten.” Inspired Version Genesis 6:62

We find that God, in the process of restoring all things as at first, sent John the Baptist, Peter, James, and John to re-established these same keys of the kingdom upon Joseph Smith Jr., and Oliver Cowdery in 1829.

 “Peter, and James, and John, whom I have sent unto you, by whom I have ordained you and confirmed you to be apostles and especial witnesses of my name, and bear the keys of your ministry; and of the same things which I revealed unto them; unto whom I have committed the keys of my kingdom, and a dispensation of the gospel for the last times; and for the fullness of times, in the which I will gather together in one all things, both which are in heaven and which are on earth; and also with all those whom my Father hath given me out of the world;” D&C 26:3a-c

If we believe those things that were revealed, we must accept the fact that Joseph Smith still retains the keys of the kingdom both in this world and in the next. Joseph Smith was informed in a revelation:

 “Verily I say unto you, The keys of this kingdom shall never be taken from you [Joseph Smith Jr.] while thou art in the world, neither in the world to come; nevertheless, through you shall the oracles be given to another; yea, even unto the church. And all they who receive the oracles of God, let them beware how they hold them, lest they are accounted as a light thing, and are brought under condemnation thereby; and stumble and fall, when the storms descend, and the winds blow, and the rains descend, and beat upon their house.” D&C 87:2a,b

We are also informed that Joseph Smith Jr., would have power and authority to organize God’s Kingdom:

 “Therefore, as I said unto you, Ask and ye shall receive; pray earnestly that peradventure my servant Baurak Ale [Joseph Smith Jr.]  may go with you and preside in the midst of my people, and organize my kingdom upon the consecrated land; and establish the children of Zion, upon the laws and commandments which have been, and which shall be given, unto you.” D&C 100:6g

Looking to the prophets in the quest for understanding the latter day kingdom

 What is the stone that is cut out of the mountain without hands?

 The great prophet Daniel shed much light on this latter day kingdom that was to exist forever. God gave him the interpretation of a dream of king Nebuchadnezzar while Judah was in captivity in Babylon. The time line of the elements of this dream begins with Nebuchadnezzar and ends with the establishment of the kingdom of God on earth in the last days.

Daniels interpretation of the dream; “But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar WHAT SHALL BE IN THE LATTER DAYS.  Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;”     Daniel 2:28

 He saw a stone that was cut out of the mountain without hands and this stone broke down a huge image made up of gold, silver, brass, iron, and clay.  We are told that this stone would destroy the image and turn it to powder like the chaff of a threshing floor. This sounds like a mighty powerful force.

 “Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them; and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.”                       Daniel 2:34,35

 A mountain in prophecy is a great nation or a great power.

 “And it shall come to pass in the last days when the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it ;And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem;” Isaiah 2:2,3

 Joseph Smith was also given the laws for the governing the kingdom.

 “wherefore, for this cause I gave unto you the commandment, that you should go to the Ohio; and there I will give unto you my law; and there you shall be endowed with power from on high, and from thence, whosoever I will, shall go forth among all nations, and it shall be told them what they shall do; for I have a great work laid up in store, for Israel shall be saved, and I will lead them whithersoever I will, and no power shall stay my hand.”                      D&C 38:7b-d

 Daniel goes on to interpreting the dream and identifies four kingdoms.  The Babylonian kingdom; the Media Persian kingdom; the Greek kingdom; and the Roman kingdom. The Roman kingdom was divided into ten nations of Europe designated as the toes of the image. This time line brings us down to the latter days and in the days of these kings--­­­­the ten kings-- God will set up a kingdom.

 “And IN THE DAYS OF THESE KINGS SHALL THE GOD OF HEAVEN SET UP A KINGDOM, which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter; and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.” Daniel 2:44,45

Finally in Section 65 of the R.L.D.S. Doctrine and Covenants we find the identify of the stone that was cut out of the mountain without hands and that the kingdom is to be present on earth when the Lord returns.

 "The keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth, and from thence [the kingdom] shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone [the kingdom] which is cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth, until it has filled the whole earth; yea, a voice crying, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, prepare ye the supper of the Lamb, make ready for the Bridegroom; pray unto the Lord; call upon his holy name; make known his wonderful works among the people, call upon the Lord, that his kingdom may go forth upon the earth; that the inhabitants thereof may receive it, AND BE PREPARED FOR THE DAYS TO COME, in the which the Son of man shall come down in heaven, clothed in the brightness of his glory, TO MEET THE KINGDOM OF GOD WHICH IS SET UP ON THE EARTH; wherefore, may the kingdom of God go forth, that the kingdom of heaven may come, that thou, O God, may be glorified in heaven, so on earth, that thy enemies may be subdued; for thine is the honor, power, and glory, for ever and ever. Amen. [D&C Sec. 65:1b-1f]

The the kingdom shall come to pass when those who are called to be latter day saints rally to the cause by being taught of the Holy Ghost and leave the teachings of man to embrace the pure truth of God. When the saints have that mind in them which is in Christ Jesus, and surrender to his great love, then we shall be of one heart and one mind and all our resources, physical, mental, and spiritual shall be dedicated to the Lord and his kingdom.

The fuller realization of this kingdom will be the building of the holy city New Jerusalem and the establishment of the stakes of Zion which shall radiate out from the center place into the areas round about and ultimately into all the world. Then the saints shall be that leaven that shall changes the whole world by creating a new society based upon the righteousness of the Lord.

   DANS LES DERNIRS JOURS il arrivera que la montagne de la maison de l'Éternel [Israël] sera établie sur le sommet des montagnes [Le chef des Nations] et elle sera exaltée au-dessus des collines, et les peuples afflueront jusqu'à elle. Que la pierre qui devient une grande montagne

 
L'Église de Jésus-Christ Rétablie en 1830 affirme que les clés ont été données à travers de la Sainte Prêtrise restaurée pour ramener le royaume de Dieu comme il est exigé dans la parole de Dieu. Ce royaume est conçu pour créer une nouvelle société composée de personnes qui feront alliance avec le Seigneur qu'ils suivront ses enseignements en toutes choses. Nous sommes commandés d'organiser ce royaume selon le modèle figurant dans les Écritures.. Ce modèle nous fournit le plan pour l'établissement et la construction de la Ville Nouvelle Jérusalem et l'expansion de l'organisation et du royaume à travers tous les Pieux de Sion et, finalement, à travers le monde. Cette nouvelle société est en contraste avec les valeurs acceptées dans le monde.

Il y a de fausses conceptions qui prévalent concernant le royaume. Certains pensent qu'il doit être établi que lorsque le Seigneur retournera sur la terre et commencera son règne. D'autres croient que le royaume est seulement un royaume spirituel sans aucune contrepartie terrestre et que nous devons attendre jusqu'à ce que ce corps terrestre soit dissous avant que l'on puisse y entrer. En utilisant le Trois Livres Sacrés de l'Église, soit Les Saintes Écritures, Livre de Mormon et les  Doctrine et Alliances, avec le Saint-Esprit comme notre guide, nous sommes capables de comprendre le plan qui a été élaboré pour le développement et la venue de ce Royaume. Si nous nous tournons vers les anciens prophètes et ceux des derniers jours nous commencerons à comprendre le temps de mise à exécution de Dieu dans tout cela.

  Le livre de Luc, chapitre 1, verset 32, nous informe que Jésus s’assoira sur le trône de son père David et gouvernera sur la maison de Jacob [Israël] pour toujours. Ceci permet d'identifier le royaume du Christ comme étant un seul et même royaume  avec le Royaume d'Israël.

 
  Avant de monter au ciel, le Seigneur a conféré les clés à Pierres et aux autres apôtres pour établir son royaume.

  "Et je donnerai les clés du royaume des cieux, et que ce soit tu lieras sur la terre sera lié dans les cieux, et ce que tu déliras sur la terre, sera délié dans les cieux». Matthieu 16:20

  Ces clefs détiennent le pouvoir et l'autorité [lier et de délier sur la terre] pour la Prêtrise pour accomplir toutes les ordonnances nécessaires et à la préparation d'un peuple et du royaume pour le règne du Christ.

  «Et ainsi, vous devez  naître de nouveau dans le royaume des cieux, d'eau et d'Esprit, et être purifiée par du sang,  même par le sang de mon Fils Unique." Genèse 6:62 Version Inspiré.

Nous constatons que Dieu, dans le processus de restaurer de toutes les choses comme au commencement, a envoyé Jean-Baptiste, Pierre, Jacques et Jean pour rétablir ces même clefs du royaume à Joseph Smith, Jr., et Oliver Cowdery en 1829.

 
  "Pierre, et Jacques, et Jean, lesquels je t'ai envoyé, par lesquels je vous ai ordonné et confirmé pour être apôtres et les témoins spéciaux de mon nom, et portiez les clefs de votre ministère et des mêmes choses que je leur ai révélées, auxquels j'ai remis les clés de mon royaume et une dispensation de l'évangile pour la dernière fois, et pour la plénitude des temps dans lequel je rassemblerai toutes choses dans une seul chose, tant celles qui sont dans les cieux et qui celles sont sur la terre, et aussi avec tous ceux qui mon Père m'a donné parmi le monde; "D & C 26:3 a,c.

Si nous croyons à ces choses qui ont été révélées, nous devons accepter le fait que Joseph Smith détient toujours les clés du royaume aussi bien dans ce monde et dans l'autre. Joseph Smith a été informée dans une révélation:

  "En vérité, je vous le dis, les clés de ce royaume ne te [Joseph Smith, Jr.] serons jamais enlevées dans ce monde, ni dans le monde à venir. Néanmoins, par ton intermédiaire, les oracles seront donnés à un autre, oui, même à l'Église. Et tous ceux qui recevront les oracles de Dieu, qu'ils prennent garde comment ils les garderont, de peur qu'ils ne le prennent à la légère, et qu'ils soient amenés sous la condamnation, et qu'ils trébuchent et tombent lorsque les tempêtes descendront, et que les vents souffleront, et les pluies descendront, et s'abattront sur leur maison. "D & C 87:2 a, b

 
Nous sommes aussi informés que Joseph Smith, Jr., aurait le pouvoir et l'autorité d'organiser le Royaume de Dieu:

 
  "C'est pourquoi, comme je vous l'ai dit, Demandez et vous recevrez; prier avec ferveur afin que mon serviteur Baurak Ale [Joseph Smith, Jr.] puissent vous accompagner et présider au milieu de mon peuple, et organiser mon royaume sur la terre consacrée, et établir les enfants de Sion sur les lois et les commandements qui ont été et qui vous seront donné. "D & C 100:6 g

  Quelle est la pierre qui est coupée de la montagne sans mains?

  Le grand prophète Daniel a jeté beaucoup de lumière sur ce royaume des derniers jours qui devait exister pour toujours. Dieu lui a donné l'interprétation du rêve du roi Nebucadnetsar lorsque la Judé était captive de Babylone. Le temps de déroulement des éléments de ce rêve commence avec Nebucadnetsar et se termine par l'établissement du royaume de Dieu sur terre dans les derniers jours.

 
L'interprétation du rêve par Daniel: "Mais il y a dans les cieux un Dieu qui revèle ses secrets, et qui a fait connaître au roi Nebucadnetsar ce QUI ARRIVERA  DANS LES DERNIER JOURS. Voici ton songe, et les visions que tu as eues sur ta couche. " Daniel 2:28

  Il a vu une pierre qui fut coupée de la montagne sans le secours d’aucune mains, et cette pierre a brisée une immense statue composé d'or, d'argent, de cuivre, de fer et d'argile. Il nous a été dit que cette pierre détruirait l'image et la  mettrait en poudre comme la balle qui s'échappe d'une air en été. Cela sonne comme une force très puissante.

  "Tu as vu, lorsqu'une pierre se détacha sans le secours d'aucune mains, frappa les pieds l'image de fer et d'argile de la statue, et les mit en pièces. Alors le fer, l'argile, l'airain, l'argent et l'or, furent brisés ensemble, et devinrent comme de la balle qui s'échappe d'une aire en été; et le vent les emporta, et nulle trace n'en fut retrouvée  Mais la pierre qui avait frappée l'image devint une grande montagne, et remplit toute la terre. "Daniel 2:34,35

  Une montagne dans la prophétie est une grande nation ou d'une grande puissance.

  «Et il arrivera dans les derniers jours, que la montagne de la maison de l'Éternel sera fondée sur le sommet des montagnes, et s'élèvera par-dessus les collines, et toutes les nations y afflueront, Des peuples s'y rendront en foule, et  diront, Venez, et montons, et à la montagne de l'Éternel, à la maison du Dieu de Jacob, afin qu'il nous enseigne ses voies, et que nous marchions dans ses sentiers, car de Sion sortira la loi et Jérusalem la parole de l'Éternel; "Esaïe 2:2,3

 Les lois pour gouverner le royaume furent également donnée à  Joseph Smith.

 
  "C'est pourquoi, car pour cette cause je vous ai donné le commandement que vous devriez vous rendre dans l'Ohio, et là je vous donnerez ma loi, et là vous serez remplis de la puissance d'en haut, et à partir de ce moment, quiconque que je voudrai, ira parmi toutes les nations et ils leur sera dit ce qu'ils devront faire, car j'ai un grand de travail en réserve, car Israël sera sauvé, et je les conduirai là où je veux, et aucun pouvoir ne retiendra dans ma main. "D & C 38:7 b-d

  Daniel continue à interpréter le rêve et à identifier les quatre royaumes. Le royaume Babylonien, le Royaume Mèdo-Perse, le Royaume Grecque et le Royaume Romain. Le Royaume Romain fut divisé en dix nations européennes désignés par les orteils de l'image. Ce déroulement nous amène aux derniers jours et aux  jours de ces rois - les dix rois – où Dieu établira un royaume.

 
  "ET DANS LE TEMPS DE CES  ROIS, LE DIEU DU CIEUX SUSCITERA UN ROYAUME, qui ne sera jamais détruit, et qui ne passera point sous la domination d'un autre peuple. Il brisera et détruira tous ces royaumes-là et lui-même subsistera éternellement. C'est ce qu'indique la pierre que tu as vu se détachée de la montagne sans le secours d'aucune mains, et qui a brisé le fer, l'airain, l'argile, l'argent et l'or. Le grand Dieu a fait connaître au roi ce qui doit arriver après cela. Le songe est véritable, et son explication est certaine.  "Daniel 2:44,45

 
Finalement, dans la section 65 du Doctrine et Alliances (RLDS), nous trouvons l'identité de la pierre qui a été coupé de la montagne sans le secours d’aucune mains et ce royaume doit être présent au retour du Seigneur sur la terre.

  "Les clefs du royaume de Dieu sont remises à l'homme sur la terre, et  de là [le royaume] l'évangile roulera jusqu'aux extrémités de la terre, comme la pierre [le royaume] qui est coupée de la montagne sans mains roulera jusqu'à ce qu'elle ait remplie toute la terre. Oui, une voix qui crie, Préparez le chemin du Seigneur, préparez-vous au souper de l'Agneau, soyez prêts pour l'Époux.  Priez le Seigneur; invoquez son saint nom; faites connaître ses œuvres admirables parmi les peuples, invoquez le Seigneur afin que son royaume se répandre sur la terre, afin que les habitants de celle-ci le reçoive ET SOIENT PREPARÉS POUR LES JOURS QUI VIENNENT, dans lesquel le Fils de l'homme descendra du ciel, vêtu de l'éclat de sa gloire, POUR RENCONTRER LE ROYAUME DE DIEU QUI EST ÉTABLIS SUR LA TERRE, c'est pourquoi, puisse le royaume de Dieu s'établir, afin que le royaume des cieux vienne, afin que toi, ô Dieu tu puisse être glorifié dans le cieux, et sur la terre, afin que tes ennemis puissent être soumis, car à toi est l'honneur, la puissance et la gloire, pour les siècles des siècles. Amen. [D & C Sec. 65:1 b-1f]

LE royaume arrivera lorsque ceux qui sont appelés  à être les Saints de Dernier Jours se rassembleront à la cause en se laissant enseignées par le Saint-Esprit et délaissant les enseignements des l'homme pour s'attacher à la pure vérité de Dieu. Lorsque les saints auront qui est dans le Christ Jésus dans leur l'esprit, et se soumettront à son grand amour, alors seulement nous serons d'un seul cœur et d'une seule pensée et de toutes nos ressources physique, mentale et spirituelle seront consacrés au Seigneur et à son Royaume.

 
La grande réalisation de ce royaume sera la construction de la ville sainte, la Nouvelle Jérusalem, et l'établissement de Pieux de Sion et qui rayonnera à partir du lieu central jusque dans les régions environnantes et finalement dans le monde entier. À ce moment là les saints seront ce levain qui changera le monde entier en créant une nouvelle société fondée sur la droiture du Seigneur.
