By President of Seventy Nolan W. Glauner

“And he [Jesus] said unto them, [his Apostles] Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth  not, shall be damned.” Mark 16:14, 15

The subject of baptism cannot be ignored by any thinking person professing a belief in the divinity of Christ. God has created each one of us for a purpose and we are equally responsible for seeking and fulfilling that purpose if we are to please him. We shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ as individuals and no priest or group of people will stand with us and we will be judged by our works. We will not be able to use the excuse that someone else was responsible for individual salvation. We all take lessons and teaching from various sources, but we are not required to accept all that is taught. If we are accountable to Christ we must look to Christ for our teaching. Wherever man has gotten his hand into religion, he has invariably interjected his personal beliefs into his teaching.

I would like you to consider the belief that God in Christ gave us the church and the church is ordained by him to carry the truth, through his servants, to all parts of the world. I am sure that many would like the honor of being selected as one of these emissaries of God himself and receive his commission, but not all who would serve are called to serve. The twelve Apostles were called and appointed by the Lord himself and just after the last supper in the upper room, he said to his Apostles arise let us go hence. They proceeded to the garden of Gethsemane during that sojourn he made this statement to them, Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit; and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16, Then after his resurrection he met with the eleven remaining Apostles “And he [Jesus] said unto them, [his Apostles] Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be damned.” Mark 16:14, 15

Most Christians will agree that baptism is a commandment of God and that we must be baptized to be saved in his kingdom, but can just anyone perform this most sacred and important ordinance and it still be ratified by the Lord? We know God gave his Apostles the keys of the kingdom and I would believe that the authority to baptize would be included in these keys. There exist many beliefs about the need and method of baptism in the different Christian groups. And unless God gave specific requirements for valid baptism any method should be all that is required and would be sufficient. But if we take the Lord himself as an example and for our instructor, he, by example, went to one that he recognized as having authority and submitted himself to that sacred ordinance. Later Jesus taught that there is a baptism with authority from Heaven and there is the baptism that is of men which does not have authority. In this he verified that a Priest [of the Levite order] by the name of John [who was called the baptizer], had been given the authority from Heaven to perform baptisms.

“And when he [Jesus] was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, by what authority doest thou these things? And who gave thee this authority? And Jesus answered and said unto them. I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I, likewise, will tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven, or of men?” Matthew 21:21-23

“John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And there went out unto him all the land of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and many were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. And John was clothed with camels' hair, and with a girdle of skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; and preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water; but he shall not only baptize you with water, but with fire, and the Holy Ghost. And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.” Mark 1:3- 7

Confession and repentance are required for the forgiveness of sin in preparation for baptism. Baptism is an ordinance and covenant we make signifying our acceptance of Jesus Christ as an offering for our sins.  It was for this purpose that God called and ordained priesthood with authority and power to baptize and proclaim a forgiveness of sin.

Jesus called his Seventy and sent them before him into the cities of the Jews. The Seventy of the Jews formed a major part of the Jewish Sanhedrin which was the High Court that tried the Jews for serious crimes. This was the same court that condemned Jesus to be put to death. The Lord then rejected the Jewish leadership and the Jewish church which was in apostasy.

“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face, into every city and place where he himself would come. And he said unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.” Luke 10:1, 2

Jesus gave his Melchisedec priesthood the authority to perform the church ordinances and to forgive sins upon repentance and confession of the member. Though confession can be made to a Melchisedec Priest, it can also be made in private between God and the member.

“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you; as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost; Whosesoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosesoever sins ye retain they are retained. John 20:21- 23

We cannot keep the commandment to build up the kingdom of Christ unless we become free from sin. We are free from sin only when we repent and confess our sins to God. Those who would be a part of God’s kingdom must be able to stand in his presence, for his throne shall be in the midst of his kingdom. Moses and the seventy elders of Israel required sanctification to stand in the presence of God.

“Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; And they saw the God of Israel; Exodus 24:9- 11

Baptism is a requirement for sanctification and repentance; and confession of our sins is necessary for our sanctification. We must be sanctified if we wish to stand in the presence of God when he returns to judge the quick and the dead.

Hearken, and lo, a voice as of one sent down from on high, who is mighty and powerful, whose going forth is unto the ends of the earth; yea, whose voice is unto men, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. The keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth, and from thence shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone which is cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth, until it has filled the whole earth; Doctrine and Covenants 65:1a,b

After waiting over eighty years for Zion, [the Kingdom of God], and not observing tangible progress, I am painfully aware that we have been doing something and maybe a lot of things, wrong! I question myself and ask was the temptation to be accepted by mainstream religious society so great that we mistakenly moved in the direction of societal acceptance? We are a unique people not Catholic and not Protestant but it is clear to the interested observer that someone visiting a service of a modern day restoration congregation would not see a great deal of difference than from that of a Protestant service, and on the other hand, If we look at the numerous latter day saints that tend to venerate “the Prophet”, how is that so very different than when Catholics look upon their Pope in Rome. We are informed in scripture that, “. . . whosoever will be great among you, shall be servant of all.” Mark 10:43.  And also “. . . he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased of him [Jesus}; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted of him.” Matthew 23:8, 9

Church law states that our presidency is made up of three men holding the office of High Priest, and one is called to be President of the High Priesthood, thus President of the church.

“Of the Melchisedec priesthood, three presiding high priests, chosen by the body, appointed and ordained to that office, and upheld by the confidence, faith, and prayer of the church, form a quorum of the Presidency of the church.” Doctrine and Covenants 104:11b

There is no priesthood office with the title of prophet. The one chosen of the body to be president is given the gift of prophecy for the guidance of the church.

Of the 23 instances of when the title of “Prophet” is used in the Doctrine and Covenants [during Joseph Smith Junior’s time], 2 state that prophecy would be one of Joseph’s gifts, 3 referred to ancient prophets, and 18 are introductions to the Section headings by others. This constant use of the term “Prophet” in the section headings, I think may have been an effort to justify father to son succession. The prophetic gift of the President of the High Priesthood is  bestowed by God not inherited from father to son.

“And again, the duty of the president of the office of the high priesthood is to preside over the whole church, and to be like unto Moses. Behold, here is wisdom, yea, to be a seer, a revelator, a translator, and a prophet; having all the gifts of God which he bestows upon the head of the church.” Doctrine and Covenants 104:42a, b

“Listen to the voice of him who speaketh; to the word of the Lord your God, and hearken to the calling wherewith you are called, even to be a high priest in my church, and a counselor unto my servant, Joseph Smith, Jr., unto whom I have given the keys of the kingdom, which belongeth always unto the Presidency of the high priesthood; Doctrine and Covenants 80:1b, c

Have we overlooked the high calling of the restoration and overlooked the very purpose it has been brought forth? If the church is the product of man, being his invention and his imagination only, it would be much easier to be Catholic or Protestant, however if of God, we had better pay a greater attention to it and it’s purposes than has been paid.

This church is called forth by God to hold the keys to set up the Kingdom of God.

“. . . pray unto the Lord; call upon his holy name; make known his wonderful works among the people, call upon the Lord, that his kingdom may go forth upon the earth; that the inhabitants thereof may receive it, and be prepared for the days to come, in the which the Son of man shall come down in heaven, clothed in the brightness of his glory, to meet the kingdom of God which is set up on the earth;” Doctrine and Covenants 65:1d, e

The only possible justification for the church of the restoration is the fact that only it can set up and establish the Kingdom of God upon the earth. It has been given [from Heaven] something that no other church has been given or can claim to have been given, and that is having the authority to act in behalf of our Creator God.  If this were not true, there would be no reason to call upon men, whom he selected, to bring back or restore his true religion. If it were possible do you not think that God would have merely reformed and re-empowered the existing religions of the day? Why did he have no choice but to start new? Was there not something that was salvageable and one of them close enough to the truth to modify and accept it, evidently NOT, for he said that the existing religions do not have power. Power is in the Holy Ghost. All things were created by the Word of HIS power, and it is logical that if they have no power, they do not possess the keys required to execute the required ordinances with the approval of God to build up HIS church. The church could not be reformed. There is not a church that can be considered his church to reform. The New Testament church had to be restored! The Jews, in the days that our Lord walked the earth, could not understand why Jesus would not and did not accept the church [Jewish congregation] of their day. They had lost the power to represent God in their day and the Lord did not attempt to, put new wine into old vessels and re-establish them as HIS church.

“Then said the Pharisees unto him, Why will ye not receive us with our baptism, seeing we keep the whole law? But Jesus said unto them, Ye keep not the law. If ye had kept the law, ye would have received me, for I am he who gave the law. I receive not you with your baptism, because it profiteth you nothing. For when that which is new is come, the old is ready to be put away. For no man putteth a piece of new cloth on an old garment; for that which is put in to fill it up, taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles; else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish; but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:18- 23.

God gave Joseph Smith Jr., instructions for those who had been baptized in other churches;

“Behold, I say unto you, that all old covenants have I caused to be done away in this thing, and this is a new and everlasting covenant; even that which was from the beginning. Wherefore, although a man should be baptized an hundred times, it availeth him nothing; for you can not enter in at the strait gate by the Law of Moses, neither by your dead works; for it is because of your dead works, that I have caused this last covenant, and this church to be built up unto me; even as in days of old. Wherefore, enter ye in at the gate, as I have commanded, and seek not to counsel your God. Amen.” Doctrine and Covenants 20:1a- 1d

Now if the restoration of the church is of God, why are the people who are affiliated with it continually comparing it with churches of their neighbors whom God has said have no power? Well it is not exactly true that they have no power, in fact they have great power in the world, they just have no power with the church and kingdom of God. World churches are bigger and greater than ever before and it is discouraging for restoration churches to look at their success without being somewhat envious. We would love to have the numbers and participation that the Catholic and Protestant churches have. So in our envy we look at them wondering why they seem to be so successful. We have trouble understanding why so many numbers.

“Therefore will I divide him [Jesus] a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death; and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child [the kingdom]; for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord. [Isa 53:12- 54:1]

God’s church and kingdom is one family. We are his children but as in many families we find obedient and disobedient children. Usually obedient children will agree and live by the rules of the family and do not make many waves. We know what happens when we have disobedient children. It causes great problems in the family. If one member packs his bag and leaves due to the rules or laws of the family, it is usually that he does so in order to indulge in those things that are against his family’s rules. I believe it would be a provable fact that there are more independent rule-breakers than those who stay at home and follow the rules. I also would forward the theory that they eventually, in their guilt, feel a need to belong and seek a place to somewhat placate their guilt by affiliating with an organization that accepts their rule breaking behavior.

The prodigal son had to realize that an adequate substitute for his home and family could not be found out in the world where he had indulged in riotous living and debauchery. He had to return home and turn away from those departures from the family rules and discipline himself to return to his father’s house. An analogy to this would be for one to leave the restoration religion because they did not want to be different than their neighbors, and they look for a ‘modern’ church that will accept their deviant behavior. They may seek churches that will promote some magical formula to obtain salvation such as to simply declare Christ as your savior. Satan himself would declare that Christ is the Savior, but it will not get him into Heaven. So there are many formulas carefully thought out by snake oil salesmen to lure  the prospective buyer in, and if there were no buyers there would be no venders. Demand creates supply!

To me it is simple logic that God can and will claim only one church. People will admit that no two churches are alike even in the serious subject of ordinances and authority. Since God is the author of all truth and supposedly ‘God directs the church’ there can be no tolerance for a deviation from the truth. God’s church is the only church that accepts all of God’s word such as are contained in the Doctrine and Covenants and Book of Mormon and Inspired Bible. This means that all churches that do not accept all of God’s teachings cannot be his church. For instance if someone sets up a business and gives it a name and also develops a product to sell in his business and someone comes along and sets up a like business using your name and counterfeiting your product it would be an impostor and liable for stealing your name and product. God has said that he has only one church and it is logical that there is one set of laws governing his church. He has, throughout the ages, appointed men to represent him here on earth and if anyone steps up and tries to represent him without being given God’s authority that person is an impostor. When God returns to earth he will claim his own, for his own hear his voice.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land; but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” [Isa 1:18- 20

Bear with me for a little foolishness. If you were God and you wanted a church established upon the earth, just how might you go about it? Would you just say, “Establish me a church!” yet not give any instructions of what would constitute         THE CHURCH? And would you say to more than one group of people to establish my church without further instructions and expect to get any uniformity? I believe if you were God and established a church you would give specific instructions that would establish and insure perpetuity of existence if your people would just follow your instructions. I do not think you would recognize any other religion that existed that you did not authorize or was built up by the mind of man. I purpose that God did establish a church and gave it instructions and when mankind disregarded his pattern and commandments the church would go into apostasy, but even so the pattern would not and could not be changed by an unchanging God. God had to restore the true religion many times when men led the church into apostasy.

Why would God have to restore his religion to earth if it existed in any form recognizable to him? To reform a religion there has to be a formerly recognized religion to reform. The restoration was not a new religion, it was THE religion. THE true religion has been established and reestablished from the beginning of the world and it is always founded on eternal, unchangeable truth. It was the true religion before the flood even though only eight souls were saved. It was the true religion when Moses restored it from God when religion was lost in Egypt. It was the true religion when Christ with his small band of saints rejected the apostate Jewish church and left them to their own destitution. It was the true religion until it was made a state religion by Constantine. It was the true religion when it was restored by the commandment of God through Joseph Smith Jr.; it is the true religion today. Why would we want to change something that is ordained of God and copy some apostate religion?

Wake up all of you who say, “All is well in Zion”, and see what is happening to the church. Men are making new rules [laws?] by resolutions perverting the religion delivered to the saints. No number of resolutions can change God’s laws, for his laws are founded in eternal principles of truth. They are given for the benefit of mankind and are just. We must follow them if we will dwell in the house of our Father. We need to leave the confused mind of man where he makes rules and resolutions contrary to the eternal principles of God and turn back and embrace the unchangeable laws that were given in the restoration of the fullness of the gospel.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter; and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.”  Daniel 2:44, 45

1.      If you want to belong to God’s church you need to embrace all that He has given to his church.

2.      The keys are given to only one church and that is the church of Jesus Christ.

3.      The keys of Peter, James, and John were given to Joseph Smith Jr., and Oliver Cowdery.

4.      No one that God has not ordained can ever obtain them or hold them in any way.

5.      Churches claiming authority to represent Christ but do not have the keys are imposters.

6.      The keys are necessary to build up the church and kingdom in righteousness and cause it to spread

throughout the world as with a flood.§

In the untamed old west, sheriffs, posses, and bounty hunters were often required to trail bank robbers, cattle rustlers or horse thieves across country. Many prided themselves in their ability to tell a lot about those they were pursuing [it was called reading sign] and could indicate the direction and number of persons involved. They studied the depth of horseshoe tracks, any boot impressions and any, camp fires that they may have made along their escape route,

At times those law enforcement people would follow a clear trail out of town, but at some time along the way they would discover other tracks merging with the original. These other travelers may have come along at a later time, but they confused the previous clear trail. It also occurred as the merged trails were followed they might find one branching off one way and additional ones other ways which gave the different groups completely different destinations. It became increasingly difficult to determine just which one was the trail of those they were originally following.

Unless these law officers had a clear identification of a particular print of a horseshoe or some other indicator to follow the only possibility in apprehending  the offenders was to follow the most likely trail to its end and verify if it was truly the one that led to the original offenders. If at the end of this trail they found they had been following a false trail, they had to return to the place of the split off and hopefully the original trail would not have been washed out by rains or other travelers that covered the original tracks. If the trail got to old the chances of ever following it were diminished or lost.

A book was written entitled; “The Divergent Paths of the Restoration” by Steven L. Shields. This book is updated periodically to add information to the many different groups that originated from the original church restored under the leadership of Joseph Smith Jr. It is heartbreaking and very discouraging to see that there is so much confusion concerning the restoration. This confusion has destroyed the faith of many-a- latter day saint and in the validity of the restoration itself, for they did not know [for sure] just which of the various organization was the continuation of the original church. I believe that there are many of our brothers and sisters in the movement who are waiting for someone to tell them which way to move, which church to join. I believe this is totally the wrong approach. God has given each one of us a great many blessings. One of these blessings is the ability to read and write and study different sources. We have the ability to tell right from wrong and also that we have the ability to discern and separate out high pressure salesmanship from the humble ministry of those called of God to minister to his people. It comes down to the fact that it is the duty of each member of the church to study and verify the doctrines of the church for conformity to the inspired scriptures furnished for this purpose.

We each alone shall stand before the judgment bar of Christ and answer for the decisions we make. There will be those who have been led astray by the craftiness of men, but if they have not attempted to live by the truth that is available to all, they may be judged as lacking.

I have seen too many business men employing business tactics within the church and also many salesmen applying selling techniques to expand the gospel as they see it within the church. This is totally improper.

It is only through the inspiration and teaching of the Holy Ghost, that our people that have been confused can come out of this confusion through their prayers and study of the scriptures.

Our scriptures say , “. . . and as it is written, Whatsoever ye shall ask in faith, being united in prayer according to my command, ye shall receive; and ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect, for mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts;” Doctrine and Covenants 28:2c

Rodger Launius’s Blog asks the question, “Is God the Ultimate Practical Joker? A Commentary on Schism in the Latter-day Saint Movement

“How else might we reconcile the claims of the various schismatic leaders with the concept of revelation and holy writ other than to conclude that God loves practical jokes? All claimants to leadership among the Latter-day Saints have always held two beliefs in common. First, they all believed, or at least claimed to believe, that God had called them apart to reestablish “a true church” out of the vestiges of an older but impure religious movement. Second, God always told them through revelation, vision, or some other supernatural means that what they taught was the pure gospel and all else a corruption of the holy way. And, furthermore, all followers of those other corruptions were lesser in God’s eyes.

But if God told the Hedrickites one thing, and the Strangites another, and the other groups something else again—as the adherents of these various groups all claim—how do we make sense of it? In telling every Latter-day Saint prophet something different, and then prompting them to act on it, God may be the life of the party in the Celestial Kingdom but such antics have thrown the various followers of the legacy of Joseph Smith into constant turmoil, discord, and not a little confusion.”

I do not want to be super critical with this statement by Rodger, but just because different [would be leaders] embarked upon false trails does not mean that the real trail has ceased to exists.

If God is to judge us justly his directions must be, clear, concise and understandable. If they are corrupted and confused by power seeking deceiving individuals, they no longer are the pure teachings of God. I do not believe and I would not even hint in expression that God is a Joker who is entertaining himself by our failure to read and understand his doctrine.   A great many of God’s children are being led astray but it is certainly not the work or the desire of that God that I worship!  All errors can only be the errors of man or the confusion created and perpetrated by the adversary.

If we look at the disparate but accepted beliefs of the many different groups at the ends of the divergent branched out trails, we will find that they have not tracked properly and have followed false paths. The only way to regain or return to the right path is to weigh the accumulated beliefs the group now accepts and return to the original beginning of the trail and inspect thoroughly the [common consent] and [assembly quorums] approved teachings, that were given through the prophet Joseph Smith Jr., then it becomes apparent that it is not the doctrine that causes their confusion but those who are careless in leadership positions who have introduced confusion and disturbed or wiped out the telling signs of the true trail.

In order for someone to return to the true trail they must first believe that Joseph was a true prophet of God, that secondly he was not a fallen prophet. They  must understand that the slander heaped upon his name was done by his and the church’s enemies. They also must believe that Joseph fulfilled the work that God called him to accomplish. We must  throw off all the fiery darts of the Adversary that have been thrown at him by the enemies of the church which have slandered him and his name with the crime of polygamy and other non- Christian nefarious practices, when no concrete proof that would stand any rational test of evidence can be brought against him. Then they must return once more on that trail that God provided for his latter day saints which have been laid out in the latter day scriptures.  If we are willing to accept these premises and judge the church by them we will arrive at the true church that was restored through his life’s, work and his death.

I would advise all true latter day saints who still seek truth to abandon their false trails when they find out that they only lead to apostasy, and return to the source of all righteousness, Jesus Christ and his Restored Church. §

 Baptisms at Aboasso

2 Timothy 4:2   Preach the word, be ready in season and out of season.

As the word expands daily and grows daily in numbers, the sinners are increased in number and the evil people are also increased all over the world.

The church of Jesus Christ Restored 1830 is commissioned to let the world see the Lord Jesus, the solution to all things in the world.

Saints, do we know that there are still people who do not know God loves them? Some don’t even know the Lord Jesus Christ who came to die for them, for their sins.  Is it not sad?  The Church of Christ can change that by reaching them with the good news of Christ and planting the truth of the word of God in the Doctrine and Covenants and the law of God.

God loves every one even your neighbors around you.  Let your brother know the love of God.  You can start from one and reach the world with the word of God as done by the old prophets of the Church of Christ brought the children of Zion back to their resting place.    Zion is our kingdom our target.

The church conference in January produced things. The church at Bonua changed and this opened another door at Aboasso.

During the last church conference a brother was invited to the program from Aboasso. The brother called Jonathan attended the church of the latter day saints  and during this conference the Lord touched his mind to invite me to Aboasso  to start a church. After the conference the problem that Abraham faced does not allow us to do anything on it till l return from Nigeria. l visited the city after l returned.  l thank the Lord Jesus that his name has prepared 21 members for the church. l started the program with them every Wednesday and Thursday and  l called for baptism proof that they stand with the Restored Church. These are the number of the people l baptized on the 10th.  l will send their names and l will start the school of prophet with the leaders who prove to love the Restored Church.  l will try all the best to meet their spiritual needs.

l have others who would love to be baptized along with them when l send the names of the first ones  and those that are in the School of the Prophets.  l would love to have their certificates to come in time.

I am in Aboasso today to get the venue for the church. Pray along as we love to start the Sunday worship with them very soon.  l will keep you informed later.

High Priest, Solomon  Adesina

 1.    You have heard of a drought of water in your land, but I say unto you there is a drought of truth and clear thinking.

 2. This drought is more costly than a drought of water, for truth and clear thinking is what is required to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion which is the cause of righteousness.

 3. I have heard the question asked of man, what is required of men in order to be saved?

 4. And I answer, all who repent and come unto me and enter into the gate shall be saved, but I would ask of you, since in my Father’s house there are many mansions and more glories than one, into which of them would you be saved?

 5. I shall judge you by your works and reward each one of you with a just recompense in your personal effort to keep my commandments, especially my command to first seek my kingdom and to establish its righteousness.

 6. Lift up your heads and look around you; do you not notice the violence even in some of your own households?

 7. I have commanded you to love one another, but your curiosity and interest is more in your neighbor than in the members of your own family.

 8. Bring your family to an understanding of righteousness, then teach your neighbor if required of you.

 9. If my holy priesthood will hear my voice and seek out my truth that has gone on before, I will gather mine elect and establish my kingdom in power among you.

10. When my laws are carried out by the voice of the body of my church, I will come unto you and empower you from on high.

11. I call upon my holy priesthood to repent and honor my law and commandments.

12. Cast away those man-made resolutions that are contrary to my given law and you shall begin to prosper.

13. Cast out from among you those self-proclaimed prophets and apostles who are wolves in sheep’s clothing and who take their example from Rome.

14. My true priesthood are humble men, teachers of righteousness unto the church.

15. I have said that I will reveal unto you who are mine apostles and who are not.

16. You will know them by their ambitions and their services to the poor among you.

17. I shall raise up true apostles in the days to come who will keep my laws and will bless my church.

18. Until then my saints, stand in holy places and keep yourselves from evil. Amen

17 March, 2014 Number 336

 1. I call upon you at this time to reveal myself unto you.

 2. Eternal truth is a revelation of myself to those who love truth and seek righteousness.

 3. Now you see and understand in part, but I say unto you the time is soon at hand when you shall receive and see in full my countenance and my glory.

 4. If you are prepared you shall withstand that day that is set for me to come down in power and in judgment.

 5. I ask my children of the covenant, are you prepared to stand in my presence?

 6. Are you able to stand in the presence of all truth and know that you are justified?

 7. There shall be a great final gathering and also a great burning at that day.

 8. I warn you once more as my servant Moses instructed my people at the base of my holy mountain to sanctify yourselves that you may abide my glory and stand in my presence.

 9. Under my New and Everlasting Covenant I have given you myself as an offering for your sins.

10. Have you accepted my offering?

11. Do you believe my body and blood is sufficient payment for your redemption and sanctification?

12. If you do not, you have no forgiveness of sin nor can you be sanctified to stand in my presence in the face of all truth.

13. I have given you the summons. Come unto me.

14. Come with a broken heart and a contrite spirit in the spirit of repentance and meekness, seeking full exoneration for your sinful offences against me, and I will place a new heart, a new mind and a new spirit within you and cleanse you of all unrighteousness.

15. Then I will dwell in you and you in me.

16. You cannot live without accepting eternal truth when the destruction decreed is poured out upon the earth.

17. There is no eternal life outside of my truth.

18. Accept my truth. Amen

14 April, 2014 Number 337

 1. Bless ye the Lord, your anointed Savior.

2. Let every knee bow and every tongue confess that God has redeemed his people from bondage and death, from the bondage of sin and from the transgression of Adam.

 3. Rejoice and join in with the choir of angels in singing a new song, a song of love, a song of victory over sin and death through Christ the Lord.

 4. Cast off your filthy garments and take upon you the robes of righteousness and delight in the place where God has placed you, for the ground on which you stand is the place for my Zion which shall come forth from all my creations; pure and radiant and filled with my peace.

 5. My holy city shall spread itself to the north, to the south and to the east and to the west until it has fulfilled the measure that I described to my beloved servant John.

 6. Let my little church be prepared to move the cause of Zion in mighty power, for it is for this purpose that I have established my church and it is for this cause that I shall build it up as a righteous ensign to witness to all people of the ability and power to bring to pass those promises that I made to your fathers from the foundation of the world.

 7. You tremble and fear at the great task I have placed before you, but fear not, for I shall show forth my power in weakness and I shall put the fear of all men upon my faithful servants that have remained true to their priesthood in which they have been called.

 8. Let all of mine Elders stop their mouths in finding or looking for faults in my little church, for if you scoff at my little ones who are true to me, you are mocking me as those who gazed upon me below the cross and jeered at my death.

 9. I shall take away your fears as you display the gifts that I have given you and you see with your own eyes those things that you only have heard about in times past.

10. No power on earth can stay my hand when I bring forth my strange work among my struggling saints.

11. I call upon all who consider themselves saints to gird up their loins and cast off their fears and believe my words that are given you concerning Zion.

12. Your enemies have prevailed over you and the greatest enemy of righteousness has caused you to halt, but I will awaken you with a jolt and remind you that your salvation cometh from above and I give no other that which the Father has given me; you are mine elect and I shall call and you shall answer for Zion is at stake and your reward. Amen

25 April, 2014 Number 338

  1. My disobedient children; you ignore my commandment to be one as my Father and I are one.

 2. How shall I reward you?

 3. You call me your King, but you serve other rulers before me.

 4. I desire for you to come near and you depart farther away from me.

 5. Who shall stand in these latter days? Those who keep their covenants with me and no other.

 6. Know ye not that you who entered the waters of regeneration promised that you would serve me, your King?

 7. I weep for my disobedient children and have called upon you all the day long to return to your first love when you, in innocence, emerged from the water triumphant over sin.

 8. How long shall your disobedience go unrewarded, and what reward are you expecting for your disregard of my commandant to be one?

 9. You, who still hear my voice, answer me, for I will not withhold judgment forever.

10. I am the Holy one of Israel and King over my Holy Nation. Amen

Number 339

1.The time has come for my Saints to begin to dominate the field.

 2. The earth is mine and the fullness thereof and it is my good pleasure to begin the work of organizing mine Elect even mine Elect according to the promises I gave unto mine ancients to deliver unto my chosen family.

 3. I confounded your dominion when I hid my face from you for a little while and said you are not my people, but with great love and compassion I shall declare you the children of the living God.

 4. I shall lay all your fair stones into order that you no longer languish in confusion of mind.

 5. I shall reveal unto you those who are mine Apostles and those who, without my calling, have set themselves up as authorities in my church.

 6. Know ye not that I have dwelt on earth and mingled with my creation and am the Chief Apostle?

 7. You who study and strive after righteousness need not fear for you who have obeyed my gospel and who have associated with those whom I have called through my true priesthood, shall attend my wedding supper.

 8. You feel that I have abandoned you at times, but I have always sought to draw you close unto me for my Saints are precious in my sight.

 9. All Israel has felt lost and have believed that their God has deserted them, but I say unto you, though you have resisted gathering unto me, I have been gathering you to the land where my Zion shall stand and shall continue to gather you until my kingdom is fully established once more in your midst.

10. I shall reveal unto you the sure mercies of David.

11. Rejoice my people, for I who have scattered you into all lands have gathered those who were called to gather unto the promised land, the everlasting inheritances of the faithful Saints of God.

12. Rejoice and look up and know that the time of my return is soon.

13. I shall come and the mountain of the Lord’s House shall flourish in righteousness when wickedness is removed from the earth and my peace shall be proclaimed through the land of your eternal inheritance. Amen

Spokane Washington 17 May, 2014 Number 340

 1. Having been awakened by the Lord in the early hours of the morning, I once more set my hand in obedience to record his message to his saints of the latter day.

 2. My children be strong for I shall require your strength and test your loyalty in the days that are to come.

 3. Many see but few heed and believe these words that I have caused to go forth through my faithful servant.

 4. If you will hear and heed my words that I give for your protection and instruction, you may know that you are mine elect and my special heritage.

 5. The times shall come and is soon at hand that darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness at mid-day.

 6. I warn you of this so that you will know that I will preserve my elect saints and those who draw near me out of great faith and I shall preserve them from my just judgments that I have determined as a recompense for the wicked.

 7. Not many days hence I shall take peace from the earth and will contend my eternal truth with the lies that have proceeded forth from that great adversary of all who is the father of lies and has led many of my children toward the abyss of destruction.

 8. I weep for my little ones who are so easily led astray.

 9. They are like lost sheep who refuse to follow their shepherd.

10. Though many of my sheep hear my voice, they continue to graze in strange pastures and run to the call any alien voice that they hear near them.

11. Hear the voice of the Good Shepherd and I will lead you safely home.

12. My sheep who have wandered into strange pastures may find night overtaking them and the obscurity of darkness causing them to lose their way home.

13. I know where you are, my people so that when I call you will recognize my voice and be gathered unto me. Amen □

If any of you were going to college and wanted to reach the highest and most pristine level in your goal, you would surely read and study all the best and truthful materials you could find to do so. You would also put forth your best efforts and give your all. You would not be able to spend time with friends in the world and other pleasures because it would distract you from achieving your goal. The same is true of the gospel for we cannot serve both God and mammon. Our highest level (goal) is Celestial glory and can only be achieved by putting aside everything that would distract us from reaching that goal. Too many are satisfied with just the status quo and accept mediocrity. If you truly desire the kingdom there are also many prerequisites set before us.

It is written in Matthew 7:12, “…Ask, of God; ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and unto him that knocketh it shall be opened.” To ask without any commitment of heart, might mind and soul would avail nothing. Christ is implying you must put in your all and full trust of sources available.

Many I talk with today about religion, ( and many are RLDS) are asking today, why are we not seeing miracles and the gifts of the spirit?  ( Mark 16 ) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”  Experienced saints should know that the gifts are for the believers that are baptized (implied), not for the non-believer. I would say though, that in all the new testament writings increase in numbers of members was associated with manifestations of the gifts because the priesthood of those days had that  spiritual authority. In F Henry Edwards book, “PRIESTHOOD AND SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY” he claims this will and shall  be the true validation of anyone holding the higher priesthood always. This proves they are truly called by God, not man.

I know from personal experience that God will use anyone of the faithful in the church to do his bidding when there is a need. I have been a baptized member for 65 years since I was nine and have experienced the gifts of the spirits. I have always witnessed about the one and only true church all my life, even the twenty years I spent in the US Navy (1956-1975). We were active in the church but I was not priesthood. While stationed in Hawaii (65-68)  I was sent to Calif. NAS Alameda to attend several class C schools for three weeks.  The first thing I did when I got there was seek someone who would help me get to church. I found a family that attended the  Berkley  branch and they agreed to take me.  The Sunday I attended, the church had a choir in the balcony, but I did not hear the choir, but a chorus of angels that was over powering to my soul. The theme on the bulletin was from Rom. Ch. 14  which was, “whether we live or die, we all belong to the Lord.” I paid little heed to the theme and after we left I  spent my afternoon at an all- day  John Wayne movie. By the time I got out of the movies it was dark and time to return to base.  I boarded a bus and sat on the crossway seat (which I never do because of motion sickness) . At the next stop a  young pretty girl, maybe 19, boarded the bus and sat on the crossway seat just across from me. I looked into her eyes and was very disturbed and did not know why. I recalled the theme on the bulletin and my thoughts were very puzzling to me and I knew it had to do with the young girl. When we arrived at the main gate she got off and went into the enlisted men’s club. I was still in a state of deep concentration because I knew that God wanted me to do something. I got off the bus and walked some distance to the barracks, got out my bible and read the entire fourteenth chapter of Romans. I still had no clue as to why. It was as if the spirit had taken over my thoughts and my body. I walked back to the enlisted men’s club and located the young girl on the dance floor. I still had no idea why I was there. I called the manager over and pointed out the young girl and asked if he would have her come to the lobby. He did as I requested and the young girl came to the lobby. The manager pointed me out and told the young girl that I needed to speak with her. She was as puzzled as I was and I still had no idea why I was there. She came over and I said, “you don’t know me and we have never met, but the Lord has sent me to give you a message”. She was awestruck at the remark but even more so when I gave her God’s message. I said, “ God has sent me to tell you that you have had a recent terrible tragedy in your life and that everything is going to be alright.”  She went pale and wept with an unexplainable sense of relief.  She told me her five year old brother had just been struck by a car and killed. I explained about little children going to heaven without baptism when they are that age.  Then I knew why God sent me. I thought only priesthood would be used for situations as this, but I was the only one he had available and she must have been contemplating something terrible or God would not have set this event into motion. He does have concern for his children. We met on several occasions after that, and talked about God and life and she requested books that I had that would help her search out things, which I gladly did. At the end of my schools I returned to my base in Hawaii. I have never heard from this woman since. Would God have allowed this to happen had I not been in tune with the spirit? This is an everlasting testimony to myself and others that God works wonders we can never explain.  We should all have some valid testimony past or present to pass on. I wish we could impress on our children this importance of faith put into practice, not just talk. Somewhere they have been lost to the church. Why are our children not active members in Christ’s only true church? Where did we fail and could we have done things differently?  What would you advise if you had a testimony? Would you share with others to promote the kingdom? Could it be the world is too full of distractions? Satan has helped in the creation of all these distractions; They may not be evil distractions, (because he works in very subtle ways) but things that keep us from full purpose of heart, which keep us from observing the Sabbath or to give our all.  Too many toys!

Contemplate the above testimony and apply it to a plan to achieve that ultimate goal, (CELESTIAL)  My testimony in no way means I was a saint, but I was always seeking the kingdom for others and myself. Consider the following scriptures. (Matthew 5) Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have it, and if he sue thee again let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.  I feel this scripture says much about some of the methods needed to reach that highest goal and we should study and learn it well. This requires being in tune with the spirit and with what God desires of us in His service to man.

If we saw spiritual power being manifest by those holding the higher priesthood, the church of Christ (his only true church) would be numbered in the millions.   So where do we go to find answers? We pray, we fast, we  ask God to guide us using pure faith and then study the only true scriptures  that God provided through our modern day prophet. (Inspired Version Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants) With the myriad of bibles in existence today, those of us in the heritage church should  know that the Lord has provided the one and only true bible that has been written under the guidance of God’s Holy power through the first prophet of the last dispensation and that is Joseph Smith Jr. That bible is known as the Inspired Version. The Lord told Joseph Smith to correct the KJV because many plain and precious truths had been left out or intentionally omitted to confuse those truly seeking the truth:

A.   (1 Nephi 3:168-171 “For behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which are plain and more precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they taken away” And all this that they might pervert the right ways of the Lord, that they might blind the eyes and  harden the hearts of men. Wherefore, thou seest that after the book had gone through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God.”

B. DC 22:1a. (This entire section is given in the introduction of the Inspired version.) This excerpt is given for emphasis due to the length of the section “The words of God which He spake unto Moses, at a time when Moses was caught up into an exceeding high mountain , and he saw God face to face, and he talked with him and the glory of God was upon Moses; therefore Moses could endure His presence.”   This section proves the existence of God and all his creations which are without end.  It emphasizes that God was in the beginning and that Satan is not God because Moses could  see him as any other man in the flesh.

There are many corrections in three distinct parts which include text with no KJV equivalents; these include:     A. Gen. 5,6,7,14, 17,19,48 and 50

 B. Isa. Ch.  29 This chapter has major clarifications, but the basic proofs that transpired  in history in KJV .

C. New Testament has many minor changes, but clarifications are truly overwhelmingly apparent.

The  exclusion of  important text from the old testament KJV bible is  the connection of past and present practices God instituted from the beginning. These important inclusions  were put in when given to Joseph Smith Jr. they are the connection of the ordinances, preaching of the word, his priesthood and greatly above all is  DC section 68:4a and Gen. 17, that connects the age of accountability of children from the creation of Adam and Eve. (in the mouth of two witnesses) John the beloved said, “In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word and the word was with the Son and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God. The same was in the beginning with God.”

IV Gen. 17:11And I will establish a covenant of circumcision with thee, and it shall be my covenant between me and thee, and thy seed after thee. In their generations; that thou mayest know forever that children are not accountable before me until they are eight years old.” (DC 68:4a)  “And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion (USA) or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God; and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands when eight years old, the sins be upon the parents heads. For this shall be a law unto the inhabitants of Zion, or in any of her stakes, which are organized; and their children shall be baptized for the remission of their sins when eight years old, and receive the laying on of the hands.”

God knew man would be skeptical so he gave them other witness also, which are the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants.         (Matt. 18) “…  in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”  In II Ne. 12:53 it is quoted “Thou fool that shall say,  A bible we have got a bible, and we need no more bible, Have you established a bible, save it were by the Jews? Know ye not that there are more nations than one?”  Vs 59 “Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like another? “Wherefore I speak the same words to one nation as to another, and when the two nations shall run together, the testimony of the two nations will run together also.” THIS IS THE JOINING OF THE TWO STICKS IN EZEKIEL CH. 37

And as  you prepare,  “ prove all things, hold fast that which is good” (I Thess. 5:21…)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians Ch. 6)

The two commandments Christ gave us are surely part of the remarks in Matt Ch. 5 of eye for an eye and going twain.  Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”  (Matthew 22:36 KJV)  §

Nestorianism is a Christological doctrine advanced by Nestorius, Patriarch of Constantinople from 428–431. The doctrine, which was informed by Nestorius' studies under Theodore of Mopsuestia at the School of Antioch, emphasizes the disunion between the human and divine natures of Jesus. Nestorius' teachings brought him into conflict with some other prominent church leaders, most notably Cyril of Alexandria, who criticized especially his rejection of the title Theotokos ("Bringer forth of God") for the Virgin Mary. Nestorius and his teachings were eventually condemned as heretical at the First Council of Ephesus in 431 and the Council of Chalcedon in 451, leading to the Nestorian Schism in which churches supporting Nestorius broke with the rest of the Christian Church. Afterward many of Nestorius' supporters relocated to Sassanid Persia, where they affiliated with the local Christian community, known as the Church of the East. Over the next decades the Church of the East became increasingly Nestorian in doctrine, leading it to be known alternately as the Nestorian Church.

Nestorianism is a form of dyophysitism, and can be seen as the antithesis to monophysitism, which emerged in reaction to Nestorianism. Where Nestorianism holds that Christ had two loosely-united natures, divine and human, monophysitism holds that he had but a single nature, his human nature being absorbed into his divinity. A brief definition of Nestorian Christology can be given as: "Jesus Christ, who is not identical with the Son but personally united with the Son, who lives in him, is one hypostasis and one nature: human."[1] Both Nestorianism and monophysitism were condemned as heretical at the Council of Chalcedon. Monophysitism survived and developed into the Miaphysitism of the modern Oriental Orthodox churches§

The massacre of a great number of the Nestorians, as reported by a former arrival, is unhappily confirmed by the papers brought by the last steamer. This interesting people, who have latterly been visited and instructed by American and other missionaries, were found to have retained the religion of the Bible in a great degree of purity, although surrounded by Mahometan tribes. It seems that the hostility of their enemies was excited towards them by the too zealous labors of the rival Christian missionaries. Nat.  Intelligencer.

A Constantinople correspondent of the London Morning Chronicle, under the date of August 17, states the particulars as follows:  ‘You have been informed of the combination between the Pasha of Mosul and several powerful Kurdish chiefs for the extermination of Nestorian Christians, or Chaldeans. Letters received the day before yesterday contain a deplorable account of the results of the attacks of the united troops. They had penetrated into the center of the Tiyaree district, burnt the villages and churches, destroyed the crops, and put the inhabitants of both sexes to the sword. Three, or according to other accounts, five brothers of the Patriarch have been slain, is mother was cut in half, and his sister horribly mutilated. The Patriarch himself had fled to Mosul, and taken refuge in the British vice consulate. Thus a sect which had preserved its independence during centuries, and had resisted the persecuting sword of Islam when wielded by the most powerful and most intolerant of the followers of Mohammed which, in its simplicity and isolation, had maintained the doctrines and forms of a primitive church for above fourteen centuries,  and which had escaped the corruption of religion, of morals, and of character so conspicuous in all other Christian sects of the East; has now, in the weakness of Mohammedanism and the strength of European Christianity, been delivered over to destruction.§

[Genesis 4:9] And in that day, the Holy Ghost fell upon Adam, which beareth record of the Father and the Son, saying, I am the Only Begotten of the Father from the beginning, henceforth and forever; that, as thou hast fallen, thou mayest be redeemed, and all mankind, even as many as will.§
